It’s been a while since one of these has gone up, but I have been getting a lot of reading done this year and wanted to get some more posts in! As a soon-to-be librarian, I can’t help but share my love of books with the world!
Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist
I listened to this on audio book, read by the author herself. As more of a memoir, than a practical guide, I found it interesting. Shauna has some great ideas, and speaks out of a very genuine and honest position. I found a lot of the writing to be inspiring and challenging all together.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
I first spotted this gem of a book at Target, and knew it was one that I had to read someday. I listened to the on audio book (as well) and loved it. It’s quirky and the main character, Ove, is amusing. It’s a heartwarming and entertaining story with a sweet ending.
A Baxter Family Christmas by Karen Kingsbury
Okay, so I finally “finished” the Baxter family series this year, and then Karen decided to continue onward. It was wonderful to sit down and see into the lives of these special people again. It was a beautiful addition to the already heartfelt series.
Latte Daze by Erynn Mangum
I have been loving these books. They are light, hilarious and provoking. The author does a great job of mixing deep thoughts with light easy story lines. It’s easy to fall in love with the characters and be entertained by the thoughts of the main character. I love a good book by Erynn.
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng
Man, this was a tough book. Another one that I listened to on audio book. The very beginning of the book starts off with telling us that a girl is dead, and her family doesn’t know yet. The rest of the book is the unraveling of what happened and it ties in every person connected to the girl. It has an interesting ending and is beautifully written. I really loved this book, as dark and difficult as it was to get through.
Have a blessed day,
